<p>Ari Melber is a co-host on MSNBC&#8217;s ensemble show &#8220;The Cycle,&#8221; airing daily at 3pm E.T., and he writes &#8220;<a href="http://tv.msnbc.com/author/msnbcmelber/">The Law of Politics</a>&#8221; for MSNBC.com, a reported blog on politics, law and constitutional rights.</p>
<p>Melber is also a correspondent for <em>The Nation</em> magazine, the oldest political weekly in America, and his writing has been published by <em>The Atlantic, Reuters, Salon, The Stranger, </em><span style="font-style: italic; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">and </span><em>Politico, </em>among others, and his views on politics and law have been quoted by publications such as <em>The Washington Post, The New York Times</em> and <em>Time.</em> Melber has contributed chapters to the books “America Now,” (St. Martins, 2009) and “At Issue: Affirmative Action,”  (Cengage, 2009), and he authored &#8220;<a title="OFA Report" href="http://www.arimelber.com/?page_id=445" target="_blank">The Permanent Field Campaign in a Digital Age</a>&#8221; (techPresident, 2010),  a 74-page <a href="../?page_id=445">special report</a> about Organizing for America.</p>
<p>From 2009 to 2013, Melber practiced law at a major New York firm, specializing in First Amendment, reporter&#8217;s privilege and copyright litigation.  During the 2008 presidential election, Melber traveled with the Obama Campaign on special assignment for <em>The Washington Independent</em>. Previously, he served as a legislative aide to Sen. Maria Cantwell and as a national staff member of the 2004 John Kerry Presidential Campaign. He has also been a <a title="APB Speakers Page" href="http://www.apbspeakers.com/speaker/ari-melber" target="_blank">featured speaker</a> at Harvard, Oxford, Yale, Columbia, NYU, USC and Georgetown, among other institutions.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Melber received a J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he was an editor of the <em>Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy</em>. He is a   member of the New York Bar.
